DE OUTRO MODO. E é o complemento dos dias de *Mascaram*, deduzida a *Epacta*.
VII. O dia intercalar é aquele que se intercala no fim do ano de Osíris, ou de Lucas, quando os *Epagomenae* são seis, ao final do terceiro ano do lustro.
CÂNON PRIMEIRO.
Encontrar o ano dos Augustos.
Pela regra perpétua, dos anos da *Periodus Iuliana* subtraia 4684, ou aos anos de Cristo Dionisianos some 29. Do presente ano da *Periodus Iuliana* 6317, deduzidos 4684, ou ao ano de Cristo 1604 acrescentados 29, obtém-se o ano dos Augustos presente 1633, começando em 29 de agosto do dito ano 1604, a partir da *neomenia* de Θωθ Acciano.
CÂNON SEGUNDO.
Encontrar o ano da *Aera* dos Santos Mártires Diocleciana.
Pela regra perpétua, dos anos dos Augustos subtraia 312, ou dos anos de Cristo 283. Do presente ano dos Augustos 1633, deduzidos 312, ou 283 do ano de Cristo 1604, resta o presente ano 1321 da *Aera* dos Mártires, começando, como acima, em 29 de agosto, a partir da *neomenia* de Thuth Elkupti, ou Mascaram dos Etíopes, ou Gorpieu dos Gazenses.
CÂNON TERCEIRO.
Encontrar o ano da Graça.
Dos anos Diocleciaaos dos Santos Mártires, subtraia o número proximamente menor dos grandes ciclos coletados na Tabela segunda do Capítulo segundo. Do presente ano Diocleciano 1321, subtraído o número proximamente menor 1064, resta o ano da Graça 257, começando no dito dia 29 de agosto, que é o primeiro do mês de Thuth Elkupti, ou Mascaram dos Etíopes.
CÂNON QUARTO.
Dado o ano dos Augustos, encontrar o ciclo de *Plinthium*.
Dos anos dos Augustos propostos, primeiro subtraia o número proximamente menor da Tabela segunda do Capítulo segundo, como no Cânon precedente. Depois, novamente subtraia o proximamente menor dos *Cycli Solares* da mesma Tabela. O resíduo é o *cyclus Plinthii*. Do ano proposto dos Augustos 1633, deduzido o proximamente menor dos grandes ciclos 1596, resta 37. Destes, retirado novamente um *Cyclus Solis*, isto é 28, resta o nono ano do *Plinthium*, que exibe o número 4 na Tabela nona deste.
CÂNON QUINTO.
Dado o ano da Graça, encontrar o ciclo do *Plinthium* dos Mártires.
É o mesmo Cânon que o anterior. Dos anos da Graça subtraia o número proximamente menor dos *Cycli Solis* coletados na dita Tabela segunda do Capítulo segundo. Dos anos da Graça 257, subtraído o número proximamente menor dos *Cycli Solares* 252, resta o quinto ano do *Plinthium* dos Mártires, que exibe o número 1 na dita Tabela nona deste.
CÂNON SEXTO.
Dado o ano dos Augustos e dos Santos Mártires, encontrar qual é o ano do lustro juliano.
Não é grande tarefa. Neste ano dos Augustos o *Plinthion* é IX. Logo, é o primeiro ano do terceiro lustro de cognome Σωθεως (Sothis). Outra vez, é o *Plinthion* V do ano da Graça. E portanto, pela mesma razão, é o primeiro ano do segundo lustro dos Santos Mártires, de cognome Mateus Evangelista.
CÂNON SÉTIMO.
Propostos os anos dos Augustos ou da Graça, encontrar o caractere de cada dia.
Ao *Plinthion* some o caractere do dia proposto. No ano dado dos Augustos quero saber em que feira cai o décimo sexto de Paophi, que é também Tikmith. O *Plinthion* dos Augustos, encontrado como IIII, some-se ao regular dos Augustos 3, ou o *Plinthion* dos Mártires, encontrado como V, ao caractere dos Mártires 6. Cada um dará a feira VII.

From this, with one *Cyclus Solis* — namely 28 — again subtracted, there remains the ninth year of the *Plinthium*, which exhibits the number 4 in the ninth Table of this work.
CANON FIVE.
Given the year of Grace, to find the *Plinthium* cycle of the Martyrs.
It is the same Canon as above. From the years of Grace subtract the next-lesser number of the *Cycli Solis* collected in the said second Table of the second Chapter. From the years of Grace 257, with the next-lesser number of the *Cycli Solares* 252 subtracted, there remains the fifth year of the *Plinthium* of the Martyrs, which exhibits the number 1 in the said ninth Table of this work.
CANON SIX.
Given the year of the Augusti and of the Holy Martyrs, to find which year of the Julian lustrum it is.
It is no great matter. In this year of the Augusti the *Plinthion* is IX. Therefore it is the first year of the third lustrum, named Σωθεως (Sothis). Again, it is the *Plinthion* V of the year of Grace. And therefore, by the same reasoning, it is the first year of the second lustrum of the Holy Martyrs, named Matthew the Evangelist.
CANON SEVEN.
Given the years of the Augusti, or of Grace, to find the character of any day.
Add the *Plinthion* to the character of the proposed day. In the given year of the Augusti I wish to know on what feria the sixteenth of Paophi — which is also Tikmith — falls. The *Plinthion* of the Augusti, found to be IIII, add to the regular of the Augusti 3; or the *Plinthion* of the Martyrs, found to be V, to the character of the Martyrs 6. Each will give feria VII.
