From the proposed Jewish years 5365 subtract the next-lower number in the line of collected years on the right side, or last column, of the third Table — namely 3800. From the remainder 1565 subtract again the next-lower, 1520. Finally, from the remainder 45 subtract the next-lower, 38. There remain 7 years. Now, to the collected years 3800, 1520, 38 correspond, in the cycle-line of the same Table, the cycles 200, 80, 2; which joined together make up 282 complete cycles, and 6 past years of the current cycle 283, whose 7th year this year 5365 will be beginning — both by this and by the doctrine of the preceding Canon.

Given a Jewish year, to find the *character* of *Tisri* in hours and scruples.
Let the proposed Jewish year be 5365, whose *character* of *Tisri* in hours and scruples you wish to know. Compose the *characterismi* answering to the cycles collected above together with the *characterismus* of the past years. To the aggregate add the *neomenia* of *Tohu*, as you have in the Diagram.
