Diagrama da perioca dos caracteres dos anos árabes mais exatos. O objetivo é que conheças qual seja o ano dos Árabes a partir da Tabela das Eras das Nações. Além disso, rejeita a soma de todos os duzentos e dez. Com o resíduo, desde que não seja maior que duzentos e dez, nem menor que isso, entra nesta Tabela. Toma os (anos) coligidos pela latitude, e os expansos pela longitude, caso o resíduo for dos coligidos e expansos; se não, com os expansos. Toma-os. O que quer que for encontrado na cela em que incidiste nos números, esse mesmo é o caráter daquele ano. Ajunta-o ao caráter do mês que quiseres. Se for mais que sete, retira dele sete. O resíduo, caso for sete ou menos, é a própria féria (dia da semana) do início do mês.

Table for entering into the characters of the years of the Arabs.

A diagram of the periocha of the characters of the most exact years of the Arabs. Its purpose is that you may know which year of the Arabs it is, from the Table of the Eras of the Nations. Moreover, cast away the sum of all two hundred and ten. With the remainder—provided it is not greater than two hundred and ten, nor less than that—enter into this Table. Take the collected (years) along the latitude, but the expanded ones along the longitude, if the remainder is of collected and expanded years; if not, with the expanded ones. Take them. Whatever is found in the cell at which you strike the numbers, that is itself the character of that year. Add it to the character of whichever month you wish. If it is greater than seven, cast away seven from it. The remainder, if it is seven or less, is itself the weekday (feria) of the beginning of the month.
